Easily link files in your Benchling notebook

Amy Guan

We've heard many scientists say that they want better linking functionality in Benchling's lab notebook.

Today we are releasing an addition that makes it easier than ever to link files into your notebook. Simply use the @ function to search and insert a linked plasmid file, notebook entry, or any document in-line with your notes!

Here's how it works:

  1. Type @ followed by the name of your file to initiate a search

  2. Select your file, then press enter to create a link

  3. Press Control- or Command-Click to open the file in a Benchling tab

Check out this feature and join thousands of scientists using Benchling's lab notebook. On Benchling, you can search instead of flip through entries, easily share files in one click, and back up physical copies of your notebook anytime.

Please let us know if you have any questions. As always, we welcome your thoughts and suggestions!
