End of Benchling’s Open Beta

We launched our open beta just over 6 months ago. The response has been overwhelmingly positive and your feedback has been invaluable in creating the best possible user experience. Now, it’s time to leave beta and work toward new milestones.

What’s next for Benchling?

We are by no means done innovating! In fact, we have many amazing features planned for the coming weeks. Leaving beta just means the Benchling platform is both growing up and being used extensively in both academia and industry.

What does this mean for me?

Benchling now has different plans that meet the needs of different user groups. You can check these out on the pricing page. Here’s a quick overview of logistics for different users:

  • Industry: You have been put on a 30-day free trial. Please feel free to reach out. We want to make sure we are meeting your needs.
  • Academic: Simply verify your .edu email and you’ll get access to the standard plan for free.
  • Open Source: We are proud supporters of open science. As long as your work is public, Benchling will continue to function after your trial runs out.
